Backup data

Backup data - any data which were created in order to secure against data loss or data theft. Any secondary file/-s which is a replica of the original file/-s is considered to be a backup file/-s. Normally backup files are kept in a different location from the original files. Thus if the original files are lost or stolen the backup files will stay unaffected. Backup data can be encrypted and/or compressed.
