Incremental Backup

Incremental backup - backup of new and changed files of the selected backup set. Incremental backup overwrites only new and changed files. Thus backup software creates increments to the first full backup. Incremental backup is faster than full backup, but it takes longer to restore because the backup software will take into account the first full backup plus all successive incremental backups.
