Another way to restore the backup data is to create a restore task with the help of New Task Wizard:
Click New Task icon on the program toolbar or New Task item in the File menu
In Step 1 of the New Task Wizard, select Restore task and click Next.
When you do the restore with the help of Restore Task, you need to specify the Office Backup index file that corresponds to the backup data you are going to restore.
You can specify the backup index file in Step2 of New Task Wizard.
If the backup data that you are going to restore are stored on a local computer, local network, CD or DVD, check the first option Local/LAN/CD/DVD/Blu-Ray/HD-DVD and click the Browse icon next to the Index file field.
The file explorer will launch.
In the file explorer, browse for Novosoft Office Backup index files which have *.hb and *.hbi extensions.
They are stored in the same directory as the backup file itself.
Restore from FTP
To do the restore from FTP, check the corresponding radio button, and enter your FTP server settings such as Host, User, and Password.
When you have filled in the Host, User and Password fields, click the
icon to browse for the FTP location.
Specify the backup index file which corresponds to the backup file that you want to restore, and click Select.
The location of the backup file to be restored will be added to the location field.
If you failed to connect to FTP server, you may have to specify your proxy server settings. To specify the proxy server settings, click the Proxy... tab to launch the Proxy Server Settings dialog.
If you are behind a firewall and cannot connect to FTP server, you can try turning on passive mode of the FTP connection. To turn on passive mode, check the box Passive Mode.
Restore from SFTP
The procedure of restoring backup data via SFTP is similar to that of FTP, so refer to Restore from FTP section to see the details.
Note: This option is available in Professional version of Office Backup and in the trial period of both Professional and Home versions.
Selecting location to restore
When you have specified the index file of the backup data that you would like to restore, you can click Next and proceed to the next step of the New Task Wizard: Select Restore Locations.
