Expert ModeThis is how Step 2 of the New Task Wizard looks like in Expert Mode:
You can see that we have already added the My Documents folder to the backup set. Step 3 of the New Task Wizard is identical to that of Standard Mode.
We have selected the same remote FTP directory as the destination for the resulting backup file/-s. The next step of the New Task Wizard also has advanced settings in Expert Mode.
In addition to selecting full backup (the option is available in Standard Mode too), we chose to store backup files with timestamps by marking the checkbox Store backups with timestamps. As we clicked the Timestamp format settings... tab, the Timestamp format settings dialog was launched.
The timestamp accuracy was set to one minute; the timestamp format was selected, and it was decided to keep the last 5 versions of the same backup file/-s, so the Keep only last ... versions radio button was checked, with a number of versions set to 5. Compression and encryption also have advanced settings in Expert Mode.
Mode you can also choose type of compression such as zip compression to a single file or zip compression to multiple files. We chose single file compression which means that the backup data will be compressed to a single archive. Then, we typed the name of the zip archive in the ZIP archive name field and set up the compression quality by moving the slide bar back and forth. As for the encryption options, we selected Blowfish encryption and entered the password. Now let us see which scheduling options are available in Expert Mode.
First of all the time scheduler was enabled. Then, we entered the Start time which is the exact time the backup shall start. By further enabling the Repeat option, we specified that we want the backup to repeat once a week on Wednesday. In addition, two more options were switched on - Run the missed schedules and Run on logon. The Run on logon option will launch the task for execution when the user is logged on. In the last step of the backup task creation, we specified that we want to execute the task immediately.
