Office Backup allows
to perform a number of its
operations with the use of the command line. In
this way you can perform Office Backup commands
without opening the program window, either with any
appropriate program (like "Far manager", for instance), through a created
shortcut to Office Backup agent or through the "Run" option from the Windows "Start"
menu.
Office Backup
command line syntax (keys and the corresponding Office Backup actions) is displayed
in the following command line Help window:

You can use
either a full key or its contracted form provided in round brackets (e.g.,
either "-Delete" or "-d" for deleting items).
-help
(-?): shows the
Help window;
-Delete (-d) <items>:
deletes the specified items;
-DeleteAll (-da):
deletes all the items;
-Stop (-s)
<items>:
stops operations with the specified
items;
-StopAll (-sa):
stops operations with all the items;
-Execute (-e) <items>:
executes operations with the specified items;
-ExecuteAll (-ea):
execute
operations with all the items.
Note that the ExecuteAll option cannot be used when backing up to a CD. Also you cannot backup several
items at once when backing up to a CD, as in this case
only the item that has managed to lock the CD first will be backed up.
Below there are some
examples of the command line usage.
-
For example, during your
workday you need to backup an item named "Backup_work_files" periodically. Create
a shortcut on your desktop to the Office Backup obagent.exe file location.
Right-click on the shortcut icon to get the menu, select the "Properties" option,
choose the "Shortcut" tab and in the "Target" box type the required command and
specify the item name ( -e "Backup_work_files"). Press "OK" and close the dialog.
Then, every time you need to perform a backup of the item, just double-click the
shortcut icon.
-
Also, you can perform the
required operations through the "Run" option from the Windows "Start" menu. Specify
the Office Backup obagent.exe file location, then type the required command and press "OK".
